How does this work? does it really manage to translate to meaningful sentences in the chosen language? My experience is that many of these translation programs make no sense in the language it is translated to..

It really does help. I just changed themes on one of my sites (Blix theme) that comes with translation buttons built in. So far, my bounce rate has gone down by about 10%. My guess is that searchers from other countries can get the site translated now, so they are staying longer.
