I usually use google sitemap generator plugin in my wordpress site. And colaborate it with google webmaster tools like in your article. And also, for fast index on google if we have new site, digg is the best way to submit site. Just waiting only 1-3 days, your site will be on google index while using webmaster tool, it's slow enough.
