    Sorry I have to keep coming here and responding to very legitimate comments and concerns.

    I apologize about the downtime and the inconveniences that resulted from the upgrades. Our policy isn't to call every one of our customers before scheduled upgrade (that would result in thousands of customers having to be called), but instead to post notifications in their cPanels and on our forums. We've gone better at notifying people of these upgrades, but we have a long way to go.

    Upgrades like these are undoubtedly annoying, but they're mandatory. If we didn't keep our software up to date, we'd been exposing our customers to lots of potential security and technical problems down the road.

    Again, I apologize about the trouble. As you saw, we're available 24/7/365 in case you ever have any questions or concerns.

    I'm about to jump on Hostgator and feel good about the fact their staff comes on to blogs and posts responses. Honestly all shared hosts HAVE to upgrade. If you want 100% uptime you have to get your own host.

    Yeah, despite my griping, they are still OK. They do resolve issues pretty quickly. I upgraded to a reseller account a long time ago.
